Insanity Day 2

Day 2 of Insanity completed. Today’s workout was Plyometric Cardio Circuit. I had to take a little break during the level 1 drills, ski abs, and in-and-out abs.  Hopefully one day I’ll be able to go the full time.  My arms are just a bit weaker than I’d like them to be, but I am working on it!

Insanity Day 1

Okay. New day. Picking up where I left off in my fitness journey. Not necessarily starting over, but getting over a bump in the road. I am really determined to finish the Insanity program this time. The first time I tried I ended up stopping because of some mysterious pain in my lower abdomen. Anyway, took measurements and my weight today. Need to do before pictures. I did the Fit Test of Insanity.

Here are my stats for day one’s Fit Test:

Switch Kicks – 80

Power Jacks – 43

Power Knees – 85

Power Jumps – 25

Globe Jumps – 8

Suicide Jumps – 10

Pushup Jacks – 14

Low Plank Obliques – 50

Can’t wait to see how much more I can do later. I am sticking to this!

NO More EXCUSES!

Okay… the past couple months I have just made a ton of excuses when it came to me working out and eating right. I would do good for a little while, then stumble again. I would workout most days though, but then I would eat like crap and basically cancel out what I was trying to do.

So, now… I am determined more than ever to get my fitness and eating habits under control.  I am determined to start and finish the Insanity program. I actually started it yesterday and started eating better as well.  I really need to keep posting here, Instagram, and maybe Facebook.  I feel that doing that helps me hold myself accountable.

No more excuses.  I am STICKING to this.  I did get a new job that starts next month, but I won’t let that stop me either.

No Fry Fries Recipe

Usually when my family decides they want fries for dinner I turn to Gwyneth Paltrow’s No Fry Fries.

They’re really simple to make and are very yummy! Check out the recipe below!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 large russet potatoes (2/3 lb each), peeled
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3/4 teaspoon coarse sea salt

PREPARATION

Heat oven to 450°. Cut potatoes in half horizontally; cut each half into 1/3-inch-thick fries and place in a bowl of cold water. I usually put ice cubes in the water as well. I soak them for at least one hour, changing the water every 20 minutes.

Remove from water and dry thoroughly. Toss with oil and sprinkle with salt. Place fries on a cookie sheet. Roast until browned and cooked through, turning occasionally, 25 minutes.  Cooking times may very though. Just check them from time to time and cook them to your liking.

I also use Cajun spices to make them have a kick. 🙂

Feeling Great

Just wanted to share how great I’m feeling now since I’ve started Chalean Extreme. Never thought weight lifting would make me feel that way. Now I wake up earlier, and stay up late due to my increased energy.  That’s also in part to Shakeology which I drink once a day, every day. I was really skeptical at first about trying yet another protein type shake, but I gave it a chance after my best friend since 2nd grade said it was working for her. They don’t taste bad either! You can mix numerous other things in with the shake, which I add almond milk, coffee and ice. It tastes just like a mocha! It also keeps me full for at least four hours. It also cuts my craving of junk food down to zero! I’ve lost a few inches all over my body and 6 pounds in a week so far. =)
